Congress takes war in Karnataka to Yeddyurappa's bastion Shimoga

  Congress President Rahul Gandhi's Jana Ashirwad Yatre will resume from Shimoga and will head to Devangere today.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi tweeted, I am in Karnataka for the next two days, continuing our JanaAashirwadaYatre. This morning I will be in Shimoga. I will also address a public meeting in Davanagere at 5 30 pm."

Shimoga, which is the bastion of BJP Karnataka chief BS Yeddyurappa has large Lingayat and OBC population.

Congress MP BK Hariprasad said, " It is the birthplace of socialist movement of the state which was captured by Yeddyurappa but now the truth about BJP's divisive politics is coming out and that's why we want to start Rahuljis tour from here so that we can send a message that if Shimoga wants to get rid of Yedurappa, it means Karnataka stands with Congress."

AICC Secretary Madhu Goud Yashki added, "We want to prove to Yeddyurappa that where from he started his political career and it were people of Shimoga, who made way for him to become CM of Karnataka. He made himself the most corrupt CM in history of Karnataka."

Congress President Rahul Gandhi is reaching out to people in Karnataka through his Jana Ashirwad Yatre.

Rahul Gandhi will resume his tour from Gopi Circle, Shimoga and will head to Davangere on April 3.
